Moreover more of the managers in business are female, more women are starting their own businesses, and concept of housewife is becoming redundant. Women are constantly improving their position in the world of work. The trend amongst women in modern societies at the turn of the millennium is to be a member of the paid labour force and to look after the family. |

Caste system in India continues to be source of grave inequality and social injustice. The tribes still face a great deal of tribulations based on caste and creed. Discrimination on the basis of gender is widespread in India. Economic disparities have also contributed significantly towards social injustices. Social evils like dowry deaths, child marriage and communalism continue to taint the democratic fabric of India. The battles for social equality need mass support; their ultimate success may be determined by how India's economy grows. |
